The setup
Ethan is a prisoner, taken by Queen Veyra as her newest plaything. The official synopsis says what happens next in one clause: the man she meant to break starts rewriting the rules of her bed, her court and her bloodline.
Three nouns, escalating. That is a tidy piece of marketing copy and it is also an accurate description of the shape of the thing.
Where it sits in the catalogue
This catalogue is overwhelmingly step-family stories in contemporary houses. Claimed by the Dragon Queen is one of the handful of fantasy entries, alongside Sworn to the Queen, and the two make a natural pair: one is a guard who cannot touch the queen, the other a prisoner she has already claimed.
If the stepsibling premise has worn out for you, this is the other end of the shelf.
What it costs
